The build to SummerSlam continued on WWE Raw.
With The Biggest Party of the Summer just a couple of weeks away, the July 22nd episode of Raw saw multiple matches added to the card including the long-awaited return of CM Punk. Speaking of Punk, The Best in the World returned to Raw once again following on from Drew McIntyre remaining suspended due to his actions on the July 15th Raw.
The Following Results Took Place On WWE Raw:
- Gunther opened up the show and was met with heavy boos from the live crowd following his comments about Damian Priest the previous week. Gunther reiterated that he meant every word he said. Gunther was interrupted by Damian Priest, resulting in a brawl that security attempted to break up.
- Bron Breakker defeated Ilja Dragunov via referee stoppage. Breakker will challenge Sami Zayn for the Intercontinental Championship at SummerSlam
- Sonya Deville defeated Lyra Valkyria
- The latest Uncle Howdy VHS played, featuring Sister Abigail/Nikki Cross
- CM Punk appeared live and revealed that he is cleared to compete. Punk demanded Drew McIntyre come out and security separated them both. Adam Pearce made the match official for SummerSlam with the added stipulation that Seth Rollins would be the special guest referee
- The Final Testament defeated Akira Tozawa, Otis, and Xavier Woods
- Chad Gable offered The Alpha Academy one more chance to reunite with him. Otis refused resulting in Gable and The Creeds attacking the group. Uncle Howdy and the Wyatt Sicks attacked Gable with a Sister Abigail
- Sheamus attacked Pete Dunne and Bronson Reed before their match got underway
- Finn Balor revealed he had secured a match against Sami Zayn later in the night and against Gunther the following week
- Rhea Ripley and Dominik Mysterio appeared live. Liv Morgan interrupted and Ripley declared that Dom was still hers
- Zelina Vega defeated Zoey Stark
- Sami Zayn and Jey Uso defeated JD McDonagh and Finn Balor. Bron Breakker attacked Zayn after the bell
