CM Punk has some good news to share!
As announced on the July 22nd episode of WWE Raw, Punk announced that as of Saturday he was cleared to compete and called out the man who injured him back in January, Drew McIntyre. The Scottish Warrior made his way to the stage and stated that he has been waiting a long time to finally get revenge on his long-time rival. Just as it appeared that a brawl was about to ensue, security separated both men.
Adam Pearce made the match official for SummerSlam and that if either of them laid a hand on the other then the match would be off, adding one more detail that Seth Rollins would be the special guest referee for the match. A delighted Rollins made his way to the ring as both men looked irate at the decision.
The updated line-up for SummerSlam is as follows:
- Damian Priest (c) vs. Gunther – Singles match for the World Heavyweight Championship
- Bayley (c) vs. Nia Jax – Singles match for the WWE Women’s Championship
- Cody Rhodes (c) vs. Solo Sikoa – Singles match for the Undisputed Championship
- Liv Morgan (c) vs. Rhea Ripley – Singles match for the Women’s World Championship
- Logan Paul (c) vs. LA Knight – Singles match for the United States Championship
- Drew McIntyre vs. CM Punk – Seth Rollins will serve as the special guest referee
- Sami Zayn (c) vs. Bron Breakker – Singles match for the Intercontinental Championship
Drew McIntyre Looks For Revenge On CM Punk
Following on from Punk suffering an injury in his return match in the Royal Rumble, the Chicago native has done everything in his power to make McIntyre’s life a living hell. Beginning by costing McIntyre the World Heavyweight Championship at WrestleMania, CM Punk would also factor into Drew McIntyre’s match at Clash at the Castle in Glasgow and at Money in the Bank the following month.
