WWE Money in the Bank 2026 marked the return of the annual ladder-based event, crowning new number one contenders.
Six men and six women competed in the Money in the Bank ladder matches in an attempt to grab the briefcases. The winners would be granted a World Title match at any time up to the next year. The Men’s match has been a yearly concept since 2005, while the women’s match was introduced in 2017.
Additionally, Roman Reigns defended his World Heavyweight Championship against LA Knight. For Knight, this was effectively his last shot at the top prize for the foreseeable future. On the go home SmackDown, it was also announced that this would be the opening match of the show. With this in mind, no main event cash-ins would be taking place.
Money in the Bank aired live from the Smoothie King Center in New Orleans. The show aired live on the ESPN app in the United States and on Netflix in international markets.
