Penta is the new holder of the Money in the Bank briefcase, and now has a fast track to a title of his choosing.
The Men’s Money in the Bank ladder match was the main event of the October 10 show in New Orleans. When all was said and done, Penta stood tall over CM Punk, Kevin Owens, Je’Von Evans, Trick Williams and Bron Breakker to win the match for the first time in his career.
The chaotic match saw Je’Von Evans initially taken out by a Bron Breakker spear. However, Evans would drive the ambulance back into the arena to put himself back in the match. Unfortunately, this would lead to Evans’ downfall. Evans was on top of the ladder, but Bron Breakker tilted the ladder over. Evans then went crashing through the roof of the ambulance to take him out of the match entirely.
Lil Yachty also attempted to help Trick Williams, but suffered a Stunner from Kevin Owens for his efforts. Penta hit a Mexican Destroyer onto Bron Breakker onto the ladder, allowing him to climb another ladder and unhook the briefcase.
Earlier in the night, Tiffany Stratton won the Women’s Money in the Bank match. This was the second time Stratton has won the briefcase.
Penta Has Another Opportunity At WWE Gold Following Money In The Bank
Penta previously challenged Roman Reigns for the World Title on an episode of Raw in Mexico. Although Penta put on a great showing, he was unable to pick up the win.
As the World Heavyweight Championship match opened the show, Penta did not have the opportunity to capitalise with the briefcase. Roman Reigns defeated LA Knight to retain the title.
