WWE is set to collaborate with hit Netflix series Stranger Things as part of an upcoming promotion.
As reported by WrestleVotes Radio on Fightful Select, the pro wrestling company is set to join forces with Netflix’s biggest show, which is set to premiere its final episode of New Year’s Day. The first half os season 5 was available to stream on Netflix at the end of November, and quickly became the number one show on the streaming platform. At the time of writing, Stranger Things remains the 3rd biggest show on Netflix globally, with the Rowan Atkinson comedy Man vs. Baby and the Sean Combs documentary The Reckoning taking the top 2 spots. No further details have been provided as to what the collaboration would entail.
When it was announced in 2024 that WWE Raw would be broadcast on Netflix at the start of 2025, some theorised that the pro wrestling company could produce content with other original shows on the platform. While this has yet to happen, actors and comedians who have shows on Netflix have often been seen in the crowd during Raw tapings.
WWE Previously Parodied Stranger Things
This will not be the first time that WWE has referenced the sci-fi TV show. As part of the build to WrestleMania 39, the company produced several parody trailers that saw pro wrestlers play iconic movie and TV roles. The Stranger Things parody saw Rhea Ripley play the role of lead protagonist Eleven, who has psychokinetic powers. Eleven is played in the show by actress Millie Bobby Brown.
