WWE 2K25 DLC Change: Raw Star Replaces Special Guest

WWE 2K25 DLC

An official announcement has been made on a WWE 2K25 DLC following a delayed addition to the game.

In an update provided by 2K Games on social media on July 14, there will be no celebrity guest added as part of the New Wave pack that was released back in May. Instead, El Grande Americano will make his debut in the game in September:

The other wrestlers included as part of the DLC pack are Alex Shelley, Chris Sabin, Giulia and Stephanie Vaquer. Given the delay of the announcement and the fact that players still have to wait until September to play as El Grande Americano, the update has been met with a mixed response from fans online.

El Grande Americano made his debut back in March as part of the build-up to WrestleMania 41 following vignettes of Chad Gable looking to learn the art of Lucha Libre. Although the initial incarnation of the masked wrestler was Chad Gable, other members of the roster and fans have played into the joke that they do not know who El Grande Americano is. Originally set to face Rey Mysterio at WrestleMania 41, the match was changed on short notice when the Hall of Famer suffered an injury the night before. Rey Fenix was the replacement in the match and lost to Grande Americano in what was his debut performance at the show.

Although Gable is side-lined with injury until further notice, Grande Americano has continued to compete on TV and is also the current Speed Champion. The masked wrestler is currently being portrayed by Ludwig Kaiser.

WWE 2K25 DLC Is Latest Announcement Concerning The Game

Prior to the DLC update, the most recent WWE 2K25 announcement concerned the game itself as it was revealed that the full game would be coming to the newly released Nintendo Switch 2 console later in the year.
