WrestleMania 43 is set to be the first time WWE’s biggest show of the year has taken place outside of North America, but that wasn’t always the plan.
In April 2027, WrestleMania is scheduled to take place in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, marking the first time that The Show of Shows has not emanated from a city in the United States or Canada. However, it was previously speculated that Nashville would be the host city for next year’s event, and would take place inside the New Nissan Stadium, which will be the host venue for NFL team the Tennessee Titans when construction is completed.
With the venue set to be ready in the spring of 2027, WrestleMania 43 was set to be the first major event to take place inside the stadium. However, WWE later held a press conference to confirm that WrestleMania Saudi Arabia would be happening next year.
As reported by Fox 17, the reason for the change was that the proposed date did not line up, and the Nashville government is looking at future dates.
“the date didn’t work out, and we are looking at future years.”
Could WrestleMania 43 Still Come To Nashville?
Whether or not WrestleMania takes place in Saudi Arabia in 2027 will be entirely dependent on whether the conflicts in the Middle East are resolved by that time. Formula 1 cancelled the Saudi Arabian and Bahrain Grand Prixs, and more events are likely to be postponed or cancelled over fears of safety for the foreseeable future.
Commercials for next year’s show aired during WrestleMania 42 weekend, advertising that the biggest show of the year would still be coming to Saudi Arabia, but this remains to be seen given the unrest in the Middle East.
