Rey Fenix is on his way to WWE and it is only a matter of time before the former AEW star makes his highly anticipated debut on the main roster.
On March 3rd, news broke that Rey Fenix had been released from his AEW contract after being absent from TV since July. With Fenix’s brother Penta leaving the company earlier in the year and now a member of the WWE roster, fans are expecting to see the former Tag Team and International Champion also make the jump to the competition, potentially reuniting The Luch Bros once more.
As reported by Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select, Fenix is expected to receive his WWE medical soon and merchandise has already been brainstormed. Additionally, it is added that if Fenix has not already signed a deal with the company then it is coming soon.
Will Rey Fenix Reunite With Penta?
In 2024 it was reported that the original plan was for Penta and Fenix to debut on the main roster together as The Lucha Bros. However, as Fenix’s contract saw injury time added on, Penta made his debut as a solo star and has been used prominently on the Raw roster in the past couple of months. It is unknown at this time if Penta will make the transition to the tag division with his brother or if they will each be presented as singles stars moving forward.
