When Jim Ross Plans To Return To AEW Commentary

Veteran announcer Jim Ross has given AEW fans an update on when he hopes to make a return to the desk.

Ross has been absent from All Elite Wrestling since Forbidden Door back in August, which saw the Hall of Famer call the action for the final few matches, which included the chaotic cage match main event that also saw Will Ospreay written off due to injury.

Although Ross now only calls the pay-per-views, he has not been in attendance for the last 2 major shows, All Out and WrestleDream. On the latest episode of his Grilling JR podcast, Ross was asked if there were any plans for him to return to commentary soon, to which the Hall of Famer responded as follows:

“Yeah, absolutely. That’s the plan. In the next few weeks. I’m excited about that opportunity,”

The full-time commentary team currently consists of Excalibur and Bryan Danielson, with Tony Schiavone and Taz also rotating as the 3rd announcer.

Jim Ross Could Be At Next AEW Pay-Per-View

Ross’ “in a few weeks” comments could be alluding to the upcoming Full Gear pay-per-view, which is set to air live on Saturday, November 22. At the time of writing, the announced card for the show is as follows:

  • Kris Statlander (c) vs. Mercedes Mone – Singles match for the AEW Women’s Championship
  • Adam Page (c) vs. Samoa Joe – Steel cage match for the AEW World Championship
  • FTR (c) vs. Brodido – Tag Team match for the AEW Tag Team Championships
  • Kennny Omega and Jurassic Express vs. The Young Bucks and Josh Alexander – The winners will receive $1 million
  • Bobby Lashley vs. Shelton Benjamin vs. Ricochet vs. TBA – Casino Gauntlet match to crown the first AEW National Champion
  • Kyle Fletcher (c) vs. Mark Briscoe – No DQ match for the TNT Championship. Briscoe must join The Don Callis Family if he loses
