What Did CM Punk Say To Fans After WWE Raw Went Off The Air?

CM Punk

CM Punk made a surprise appearance on WWE Raw.

The main event of the February 19th broadcast saw Jey Uso fail to dethrone Intercontinental Champion Gunther after interference from Jimmy Uso. Continuing the beatdown as the show came to a close, Cody Rhodes made the save after the cameras stopped rolling.

Thanking the fans in Anaheim for coming to the show, Rhodes stated that one more person wanted to say thank you, introducing Punk. The former World Champion, who made a promise to fans in California:

“It is not easy sitting backstage, watching the show, knowing that Anaheim showed up 11,000-strong, and y’all kept it hot all night long. Three hours, countless superstars, awesome matches. I had to come out here and feel this myself, and to let you all know, this is a bump in the road. I promise you that next time we are in Anaheim, I will be here, and I will have my boots on,”

When Will CM Punk Return To Action?

Punk’s dream return quickly became a nightmare at the Royal Rumble as he tore his tricep in the match. CM Punk would later announce that he required surgery and would sadly miss WrestleMania. During an appearance at UFC 298, Punk addressed the injury and his timeline to return:

You know, fingers crossed, yeah, I was going to headline WrestleMania. Obviously, now I’m not. But, you know, it’s sports. It’s what happens to athletes. Mentally, I think it’s harder because the physical pain is whatever. But I look at it just like a bump in the road. This is an occupational hazard. It happens and I’ll be back bigger and better.

I’m a clumsy idiot. I tore my left triceps about two years ago, so the right one was jealous. I’m like an old cobbler. car. I’m like a 72 Nova, you know what I mean? We have to change some parts every now and again. So once we fix up all the parts, the engine’s still strong, we’ll still be good to go.

We’re thinking maybe six to eight months, but I’m not really in a rush to get back to compete. I’m in a rush to get healthy. I’m in a rush to get better. The sooner I do that, the better I’ll be when I come back.

H/t to Fightful.
