CM Punk has given the update that many WWE fans did not want to hear.
Prior to WWE Raw going on the air, news broke that CM Punk had torn his tricep and would be out for up to 6 months. Unfortunately, this would confirm that Punk would not be a part of WrestleMania and would miss out on his predicted match with World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins, which many believed would be the main event of night 1.
Opening the January 29th episode of Raw, Punk confirmed that he had torn his tricep and would be out for the foreseeable future. While dejected by the news, Punk stated that he would main event the show next year before being interrupted by Drew McIntyre.
McIntyre stated that he had prayed for Punk to get injured and would steal Punk’s spot in Philadelphia. Punk stated that he would target McIntyre when he came back, to which McIntyre blindsided Punk and attacked the injured tricep.
How Did CM Punk Get Injured?
Taking part in his first televised match since returning at Survivor Series, Punk entered the Royal Rumble at the number 27 spot. While not confirmed, many believe that the injury to Punk took place when he took a DDT from McIntyre.
Features of Wrestling would like to wish CM Punk a full and speedy recovery.
