Pat McAfee returns to the WWE announce desk.
Following on from his surprise appearance at the Royal Rumble and unannounced entry into the match, McAfee was introduced in the opening segment of the January 29th episode of WWE Raw. As McAfee made his way to the desk, Michael Cole informed the fans that McAfee and Cole had reunited and would be calling the action for the foreseeable future. There is no word on the future of Wade Barrett, who called the action alongside Cole on Monday nights prior to being replaced by McAfee.
It should be noted that there is a spot open on SmackDown for a lead announcer as Kevin Patrick was released on January 25th. No replacement has been announced for SmackDown.
At the Royal Rumble, McAfee entered the match at number 21. Standing face to face with Omos and Bron Breakker, McAfee thought better of it and eliminated himself.
Will Pat McAfee Compete At WrestleMania?
McAfee has competed at Mania multiple times. First defeating Austin Theory at WrestleMania 38, McAfee made a surprise appearance one year later to defeat The Miz on WrestleMania Saturday. With multiple stars currently injured, there is every possibility that a McAfee match may be required.
