Upcoming WWE Saturday Night's Main Event Set To Take Place At Historic Venue

A future WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event special is set to emanate from a venue that wrestling fans are very familiar with.

As reported by WrestleVotes Radio on Fightful Selectan upcoming iteration of the show is scheduled to take place at the legendary Madison Square Garden in New York City on July 18. It is also noted that it will be the same weekend as Fanatics Fest, which the company will be heavily involved in.

If Saturday Night’s Main Event does air from the World’s Most Famous Arena in the summer, this will be first time that the show has been broadcast live from the venue. The show last took place inside the Garden back in 2007, which saw CM Punk and The Boogeyman defeat John Morrison and Big Daddy V in the main event. The show also saw John Cena defeat Carlito, along with Matt Hardy facing legendary boxer Evander Holyfield, whose son is currently signed with the company.

What Happened At The Most Recent WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event?

The last Saturday Night’s Main Event took place in January, one week before the Royal Rumble. The final match of the show saw Sami Zayn defeat Randy Orton, Trick Williams and Damian Priest to earn an opportunity at Drew McIntyre’s WWE Championship one week later at the Rumble. The show was also set to see Cody Rhodes face Jacob Fatu, but the match never officially began as both men brawled before the bell.
