Uncle Howdy has made his highly-anticipated return to WWE in a huge way.
Closing out the June 17th episode of Raw, the lights went out in the arena to signify the arrival of the group. Nikki Cross appeared first holding the signature lantern before the camera panned to the backstage area, which saw a lifesized version of Rambling Rabbit and multiple bodies laid out. The camera then made its way into Gorilla position, which had been destroyed by the attack and saw multiple individuals unconscious with blood splattered on the walls, most notably Chad Gable.
Uncle Howdy then appeared onscreen and slowly made his way to the entrance ramp with the rest of the group while walking through their path of destruction. Howdy grabbed the lantern and simply said “We’re here” alongside the rest of the group before blowing out the lantern to close out the show. With Bo Dallas playing the role of Howdy, the other members of the group alongside Cross are the returning Erick Rowan, Dexter Lumis and Joe Gacy.
Uncle Howdy QR Code Teases Culminate
The first tease of the group took place over WrestleMania weekend when a brief clip played at the end of the Bray Wyatt documentary. Clues would begin to appear over the course of the next few months via QR codes onscreen and various WWE media outlets such as the website and the Twitch stream being taken over by Howdy. Fans figured out that the clues led to the numbers 6 17 24, the date of their debut in Corpus Christi, Texas.
Also on the show, Seth Rollins made a surprise return from injury in the opening segment.
