The Undertaker has once again taken aim at how the pro wrestling business has evolved following his recent visits to WWE.
In multiple interviews since his retirement, the Hall of Famer has not been shy on his views when it comes to how things have changed both in and out of the ring compared to when he was an active star in the industry. Along with taking issue with the lack of selling and fast-paced in-ring style, The Deadman has not exactly been pleased with how some talents conduct themselves backstage.
In an infamous 2021 interview with Joe Rogan, Undertaker stated that the locker room had gone soft, noting that wrestlers were more concerned with playing video games and making themselves look pretty, adding that back in his day many carried guns and knives in their bags as “sh*t got handled back then.” In a more recent interview, the former WWE Champion has now taken aim at the talents filming social media content.
While speaking with Gunther on his Six Feet Under podcast that dropped on August 7, Undertaker took issue with the stars not paying close attention to the monitors and what was going on the ring, noting that most of them were filming TikToks instead:
“For me, again, I’m a notoriously old-school dude. It’s disheartening sometimes when I go to one of the shows, and if you can even find talent. I’ve heard recent stuff that you’ve said, even to catch talent backstage watching matches, like most of them are filming TikTok’s, and doing all this other [stuff]. Even when I was on the road full time, if you weren’t sitting there watching the monitor, it was gonna be a bad day for you.”
During the interview, The Deadman was very complimentary of Gunther, who has previously been described as more of a throwback by Undertaker. The Phenom also added that if he were able to come out of retirement for one more match, he would want it to be against The Ring General.
The Undertaker Recently Appeared On WWE TV
Although retired, the Hall of Famer has still made the occasional appearance on NXT TV. On the July 15 episode, The Undertaker confronted Trick Williams and laid out the TNA World Champion to stand tall.
