The Undertaker Speaks Out On Divisive Trick Williams Segment On WWE NXT

The Undertaker has addressed his interaction with Trick Williams on WWE NXT that left opinions divided among fans when all was said and done.

After Williams disrespected Undertaker’s WWE LFG recruits on the July 15 episode, it was announced that the Hall of Famer would be making his return to the developmental brand the following week to have words with the reigning TNA World Champion, who also retained the title at Slammiversary.

After Williams bragged about retaining the title over Joe Hendry and Mike Santana, a move which was not well-received by the fans and left Slammiversary ending flatly, Williams called out The Deadman. Following a war of words, Undertaker was the one who stood tall by delivering a chokeslam to the TNA World Champion and former NXT Champion.

Although many were happy to see Undertaker make his reutrn to TV, others felt that it was unnecessary to have the veteran attack and stand tall over Williams so easily. Additionally, with the TNA World Champion taken down, some have stated this is the latest instance of TNA not looking favourable in the ongoing partnership with WWE. Now that all is said and done, Undertaker has since commented on what took place.

The Undertaker Says It Was “A Pleasure” To Share The Ring With Trick Williams

Taking to social media, Undertaker noted that although it was not Williams’ night on the July 22 NXT, he does have a broght future ahead of him:

Last night wasn’t your night @_trickwilliams, but the future is there for your taking. It was a pleasure sharing the ring with you, now go get yours young man…just leave my LFG team alone!

The appearance was also a factor in NXT receiving a boost in the ratings, with an average of 747,000 viewers watching the show, up 27% from the previous week.
