Will Ospreay Announces Injury, Addresses Status For AEW Forbidden Door

Will Ospreay has let the fans know he is dealing with an injury, and the British wrestler has also spoken out on whether he will be at AEW Forbidden Door next month.]

Making a live appearance on the July 23 edition of AEW Dynamite, Ospreay joined Tony Schiavone in the ring to deliver the news and the prognosis. The former International Champion opened by stating that he wasn’t originally scheduled to be a part of the show, but surprised Tony Khan earlier in the day and asked for 5 minutes on the show, which was granted.

Ospreay then gave the concerning news that he had been dealing with neck issues for the last 10 months, adding he has two herniated discs (C2 and C6) that are going into his spinal cord. While in storyline Ospreay was attacked by The Deathriders at All In, it has been previously reported that the injury is legitimate.

Will Ospreay Speaks On Forbidden Door Following Injury Announcement

Given the potential severity of the injury, there was naturally fan concerns over how much time Ospreay would miss. In a more positive update, The Aerial Assassin stated that the injury is treatable and if all goes to plan, he should be back in time for the Forbidden Door pay-per-view on August 24, which will air live from the O2 Arena in London. Ending his address, Ospreay promised revenge on The Deathriders when he was fully recovered. While nothing has been reported, it is expected that Ospreay will be part of a major match at Forbidden Door given he is from London.

Swerve Strickland embraced Ospreay after the promo. Strickland and Ospreay teamed up at All In to defeat The Young Bucks.
