Oba Femi has done what no other man has been able to do: slay Brock Lesnar inside Hell in a Cell.
The Ruler and The Beast collided inside the steel structure in the main event of SummerSlam night one. At just under 12 minutes in total, Femi hit the Fall from Grace onto Lesnar to pick up the victory over the former WWE Champion. After the match, Lesnar asked for the microphone. Lesnar said that Femi was the future and referred to himself as the past before leaving the ring. Unlike at WrestleMania, Lesnar did not tease a retirement. Backstage reports have indicated that Lesnar will likely have more matches before calling time on his career. It is unknown when Lesnar will return.
While there was no blood in the match and the cell structure was used sparingly, the match did see Lesnar rip apart the ring canvas to expose the wooden boards underneath. Paying homage to The Undertaker, Lesnar hit a Tombstone piledriver onto Femi on the boards, but the former NXT Champion kicked out.
Lesnar previously competed in the Hell in a Cell match twice in 2002 and 2015. Both matches were against The Undertaker.
Oba Femi And Brock Lesnar Rivalry Ends Inside Hell In A Cell
Lesnar and Femi first faced off at WrestleMania 42, which saw Femi defeat Lesnar in under five minutes. The rematch took place at Clash in Italy, which saw Lesnar hit 7 F5s onto Femi to even up the score. Femi won the King of the Ring tournament, but chose to sacrifice his World Title opportunity for a match with Lesnar.
