The Rock Addresses His Status For WWE WrestleMania 41; Reveals Who Was The MVP Of WrestleMania 40

The Rock discusses WrestleMania 40.

The Rock has looked back on a very memorable WrestleMania weekend.

Returning on the SmackDown after the Royal Rumble to challenge Roman Reigns instead of Cody Rhodes, The People’s Champion would recognise the backlash from fans and instead lean into it, gradually transforming into his Final Boss persona. Targeting Rhodes and Seth Rollins, this would lead to Rock and Reigns teaming up to face off against Rhodes and Rollins in the main event of WrestleMania 40 night 1. Using his position on the board of directors to gain an advantage, The Rock and Roman Reigns were victorious and set up the excellent Bloodline Rules match on night 2.

Despite being out of the ring for over a decade, Rock put on a great performance and made it clear that he was not just there for the payday and that this would be anything but one final performance.

Reflecting on the weekend on his Instagram page, Rock congratulated all 3 men and named Seth Rollins as the MVP of the whole weekend. Additionally, Rock teased that he would be back for the show in 2025:

Congratulations to Cody Rhodes, congratulations to my cousin Roman Reigns on an incredible three-in-a-half-year run, maybe even four years, just incredible, iconic, and historic. I’m very proud of you, uso. Also congratulations to the real MVP of the entire WrestleMania weekend, Seth Rollins. What an honor it was to share the ring with you three. What an honor it was for us to break records. And now my sights are set on the next WrestleMania. But that’s down the road.

When Will The Rock Return?

Following on from Rhodes’ triumph at WrestleMania 40, the Hollywood star interrupted The American Nightmare on the next episode of Raw. Giving Rhodes a mystery item, Rock stated that he would be going away as he has projects in Hollywood to deal with, but promised that he would be back in the near future.
