The Hardys Contemplate Final WWE Chapter And Hall Of Fame Future

The Hardys have addressed the possibility of a future WWE Hall of Fame induction.

One of the most popular tag teams of the late 90s and early 200s, and just as popular today, The Hardys have been a major influence on the tag teams of the current era and have a decorated career with title reigns across multiple decades and promotions. With Matt and Jeff each having more than 30 years in-ring experience, many are aware that they will soon be thinking about calling time on their time in the squared circle.

Although the tag team legends are currently a part of TNA, Matt and Jeff have previously stated that they would like to finish things up in WWE, the company that made them household names in the pro wrestling world. With TNA and WWE continuing to have an ongoing relationship, which saw The Hardys recently make their return to NXT, it only seems a matter of time before the brothers will be back for one final run.

During an appearance on The Ariel Helwani Show, The Hardys were asked if they would be happy finishing up their careers in TNA:

“Maybe,” said Matt. “I think we do want to do the WWE Hall of Fame. We would like one last hurrah with WWE. That could be possible while working with TNA. We’ll see. It would be nice to still have the most limited schedule we could have, which would optimize the amount of time we could spend with our families and kids. Everything is kind of up in the air right now. We both feel good and we’re going to rock and roll as long as we can do it.”

When asked about a future Hall of Fame induction, Matt added that it does feel inevitable, but he is not desperate for it to happen anytime soon:

“Yeah. We’ll definitely do it one day.” Adding “I’m not in a rush.”

Jeff Hardy added, “I was thinking 2030.”, meaning that they would have 5 more years before retiring. Alternatively, The Hardys could follow in the footsteps of Rey Mysterio and continue to compete after their inductions.

The Hardys Look To Regain TNA Tag Titles Ahead Of Future WWE Return

While Matt and Jeff Hardy are looking to the future for their WWE return and possible Hall of Fame induction, the tag team legends are scheduled to be in action at TNA Slammiversary on July 20. The Hardys, The Rascalz [Trey Miguel & Zachary Wentz], and First Class [AJ Francis & KC Navarro] will all be a part of the Tag Team Title match at the TNA Premium Live Event on July 20 as they will challenge Nic and Ryan Nemeth for the gold in a ladder match, the stipulation Matt and Jeff made famous.

In a previous interview, Matt Hardy stated that the upcoming match could be “do or die” for The Hardys.

H/t to Fightful.
