Steven Borden has elaborated on what happened at AEW All Out, which saw his match come to a sudden end.
At the pay-per-view, Borden teamed with Darby Allin to take on Kevin Knight and Kyle Fletcher. In the match, Borden hit his head during a coast-to-coast spot. After being checked on by the referee, the match was stopped with Knight and Fletcher being awarded the win.
Appearing on First Coast News in Jacksonville ahead of the Blood & Guts match on November 4, Borden confirmed that he suffered a concussion and was “knocked out a little bit.” Borden added that he feels better now following the incident:
“It feels great to be back. So I got concussed; I was knocked out for a little bit. [Allin interjects, see below] It’s weird though because with injuries, like when you’re sidelined, normally you can feel it, like you tore something in your knee or whatever. And so you know as much as you want to get back in the action, you can’t. But for me, I felt fine. So it’s just this weird thing of, like, I wanted to be back out there, but I couldn’t. And now that I’m back, it feels pretty dang good.”
Allin interjected during Borden’s answer, pointing out that his tag partner was out for an extended period:
“A little bit? You were snoring for six minutes straight. I was there in the ring; we had to stop the match. I was like, ‘Steven?’ It wasn’t a little bit. It was a lot of bit.”
Borden made his return from injury on the October 21 Dynamite. Making the save alongside Allin and The Young Bucks, Borden announced that they would be in the Blood and Guts match. The full Blood and Guts line-up for the match will see Borden, Allin, The Young Bucks, Adam Copeland and Will Ospreay take on Knight, Fletcher, Mark Davis, Jake Doyle, Wardlow and Kazuchika Okada.
