WWE Women’s Champion Stephanie Vaquer has revealed the name of her new finisher, and how it looks similar to a move AJ Styles used to do.
Debuting the move at Wrestlepalooza when she defeated IYO SKY to win the vacant Women’s Championship, Vaquer’s new finish sees her jump off the top rope and execute a crokscrew splash onto her opponent. Since then, La Primera has regularly used the dive to retain her title.
While speaking with Chris Van Vliet, Vaquer stated that the move is called the “Vaquer Inferno.”
Stephanie Vaquer Spoke With AJ Styles About New Finisher
Later in the interview, Van Vliet brought up that the move does have some similarity to AJ Styles’ Spiral Tap, which many fans have also pointed out online. Responding to this, Vaquer recalled Styles telling her that he thought it looked similar too, but that the Raw star did it better than he did:
“One time he said to me, ‘Oh, it’s like my move.’ I’m like, Oops. And he says, ‘No, you look better.’ I say, ‘No, I can’t believe you say that.’ I love him.”
Also in the interview, Vaquer spoke about her return to NXT and how she and Rhea Ripley performed a double Devil’s Kiss in their match together:
“That was so funny. She’s so nice. She asked me first, ‘I have an idea.’ I’m like, yeah? She said, ‘It’s okay for you?’ She asked me. I say, of course, I mean, it’s an honor for you to do that for me. And she said, ‘Can you show me how?’ And I say, Yeah, sure. She does it perfectly.”
Vaquer is set to defend her Women’s World Championship at WrestleMania 42 against Liv Morgan on night one of the Premium Live Event. Morgan earned the opportunity to challenge Vaquer after winning the Women’s Royal Rumble at the start of the year.
