Stephanie McMahon Says Daughter Lost Interest In Wrestling After Vince McMahon Controversy

Stephanie McMahon has recounted her daughter showing an interest in getting involved in wrestling, but her mind changed after the Vince McMahon controversy.

McMahon and her husband, Paul Levesque [Triple H], have an extensive history in professional wrestling, specifically WWE. With this in mind, and with many second-generation stars looking to follow in their parents’ footsteps, it’s no surprise that their kids would have been interested in the idea.

Speaking on her What’s Your Story podcast, the Hall of Famer spoke about her daughter Aurora potentially pursuing wrestling. While Aurora did get in the ring with former champions Natalya and Charlotte Flair, the circumstances surrounding her grandfather, Vince McMahon, changed plans:

“Well, Aurora used to want to (get into the wrestling business), and she even got in the ring with Nattie and Charlotte (Flair). She rolled around a little bit. But then, everything kind of happened with my dad and me leaving and it was an awkward time. Like right in the time that she would’ve really been making her decision so… and not that she couldn’t. She still could, but her mind right now is on getting her Doctorate in PT.”

Vince McMahon Situation & Stephanie McMahon Departure Were Key Factors In Aurora Not Wanting To Wrestle

The Vince McMahon controversies began back in 2022 when hush money payments were revealed by The Washington Post. As McMahon had used company money and had not declared this to shareholders, the former Chairman announced he had retired. Stephanie was named interim CEO at this point until Vince made his return in early 2023 to facilitate a sale of WWE. Shortly after, Stephanie resigned.

Following the sale in April 2023, McMahon remained a part of the company until early 2024. In January 2024, McMahon was accused of sexual assault and trafficking by former WWE employee Janel Grant. The next day, McMahon announced his resignation for a second time. Nearly 2 and a half years later, the lawsuit remains ongoing.
