Stephanie McMahon Believes Vince McMahon Is His Own Biggest Nemesis

Stephanie McMahon has further elaborated on the mindset of her father and former WWE Chairman Vince McMahon.

The conversation occurred on her What’s Your Story podcast, which featured WWE President Nick Khan as the guest. Upon discussing perseverance, McMahon and Khan discussed whether the skill could be learned or if someone is born with it.

Having seen what her father has gone through in his professional and personal life, Stephanie is very aware of her father’s mindset and how he will persevere. While also referencing McMahon’s rough upbringing that included suffering abuse as a child, Stephanie stated that Vince had the mantra of if he could survive, then he would have won:

“His mindset was, if he could survive, he won,” Stephanie said. “So just surviving was winning and still is winning for him today. And I don’t know how you can ever beat someone at the end of the day if all they need to do is survive to win.”

Speaking about Vince, Nick Khan also spoke about what the former Chairman had built in the wrestling world, while also touching on Triple H acknowledging his former boss at the 2025 Hall of Fame ceremony:

“So all credit to him. I only have admiration for him,” Khan said. “As Paul said — Triple H said — at his Hall of Fame speech, family’s complicated. And, you know, obviously, we don’t need to get into any of that. But in terms of business, that guy’s an empire builder.”

Stephanie did not elaborate any further on the controversies surrounding her father, but agreed that he is an empire builder despite the fact that his biggest enemy is himself:

“Absolutely he is [an empire builder],” she responded. “And no one can take that away from him, no matter what, including himself, who is probably his biggest nemesis — is himself.”

Stephanie McMahon Back In WWE Following Vince McMahon Departure

Vince McMahon resigned from WWE and parent company TKO in January 2024 following allegations of sexual assault and trafficking in a lawsuit filed by former employee Janel Grant. Stephanie made her return to the company over WrestleMania 40 weekend by kicking off night 2 of the show. Following another appearance later that year to announce picks for the 2024 Draft, Stephanie has been in multiple WWE-produced projects including the ESPN series Stephanie’s Places and the What’s Your Story podcast.
