Multiple surprises and returns are expected for the upcoming WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event special.
Returning to the Nassau Coliseum in New York, the same venue as the first ever show in 1985, the event promises to have a throwback feel with multiple homages being paid to the first ever iteration of the event back in 1985. With multiple title matches announced and legends set to appear, fans are expecting something big in what will be the final major show of 2024. With this in mind, here is a round-up of rumours for the event.
- With the finals of the Women’s United States Championship Tournament taking place on the night, Dr. Chris Featherstone is reporting that Chelsea Green is slated to be the winner of the match and crowned the inaugural champion.
- WrestleVotes is reporting that Charlotte Flair’s return is imminent and the former Women’s Champion could be back as early as Saturday Night’s Main Event
- PWInsider is reporting that multiple legends will be in attendance for the show including Ted Dibiase, Jimmy Hart, Tito Santana, Greg Valentine, and Koko B. Ware for the show
What Matches Have Been Announced For WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event?
With 4 title matches and a grudge match, the following matches will take place on the NBC special:
- Cody Rhodes (c) vs. Kevin Owens – Singles match for the WWE Undisputed Championship
- Liv Morgan (c) vs. Iyo Sky – Singles match for the Women’s World Championship
- Chelsea Green or Bayley vs. Tiffany Stratton or Michin– Singles match to crown the first ever Women’s United States Champion
- Gunther (c) vs. Finn Balor vs. Damian Priest – Triple threat match for the World Heavyweight Championship. The Judgment Day are banned from ringside
- Sami Zayn vs. Drew McIntyre
Saturday Night’s Main Event will air live on NBC in the United States and will be available to stream on WWE’s YouTube channel in the UK.
