“Speedball” Mike Bailey is officially a member of the AEW roster and picked up a big victory in his in-ring debut.
Revealed to be the wildcard entry in the International Championship Eliminator Tournament, Bailey competed on the March 12th Dynamite and defeated The Beast Mortos to advance to the next round. Bailey won the match with a spinning crescent kick. Bailey also appeared after the main event, which saw Orange Cassidy defeat Hechicero to also advance to the next round. Bailey, Cassidy and the 2 winners of the Collision matches will face off on March 19th in a 4-way match. Whoever emerges the winner will challenge Kenny Omega for the International Title at Dynasty.
Tony Khan also confirmed the signing on social media later in the night, which saw Bailey given the traditional “All Elite” graphic.
“Speedball” Mike Bailey Arrives In AEW
Known for his time on the independents, DDT Wrestling and in TNA, Bailey finished up with TNA in November 2024. During his time in the promotion, “Speedball” won the X-Division Championship 3 times and dropped the title to current champion Moose in his final appearance.
It was previously rumoured that Bailey was going to make his AEW debut in the Continental Classic but was still under contract at that point.
