A new era of WWE begins on the July 16th episode of SmackDown. Following varying setups during the pandemic, live fans will be back in attendance for the first time since March 2020. The show will emanate from Houston Texas, and is the final edition of SmackDown before Money in the Bank on July 18th.
A title match and a fatal 4 way match have been announced ahead of the show. Also, as this is the first show with a live crowd in 2021, a surprise return or debut is possible. It should be noted that this is the episode of SmackDown where Sasha Banks is being advertised to make her return.
The following matches have been confirmed to take place on the show:
- Bianca Belair (c) vs. Carmella – Singles match for the SmackDown Women’s Championship.
- Kevin Owens vs. Shinsuke Nakamura vs. Seth Rollins vs. Big E – Fatal 4 way match. All 4 participants in the match are in the men’s Money in the Bank ladder match on July 18th.
- Edge, Rey Mysterio and Dominik Mysterio vs. Roman Reigns and The Usos – Six man tag team match.
