Mami is on top once more as Rhea Ripley defeated Jade Cargill at WrestleMania 42 to capture the WWE Women’s Championship.
Competing at night 2 of the biggest show of the year, Ripley hit the Riptide to win the match and the championship.
Michin and B-Fab interfered during the match, but Ripley’s best friend IYO SKY came down to even the odds. Cargill tried to hit the Jaded on Ripley, but Ripley countered it into the Riptide to pick up the win. Ripley celebrated with SKY after the match.
The victory brings Cargill’s reign to an end at 169 days. Cargill won the title back in November by defeating Tiffany Stratton. Ripley earned the opportunity to challenge for Cargill’s title after winning the Elimination Chamber the previous month. Royal Rumble winner Liv Morgan chose Stephanie Vaquer as her champion, leaving Cargill without a Mania opponent.
The match had a Priority Pass member join Michael Cole and Wade Barrett at the commentary table, but they didn’t say anything during the match.
