Rhea Ripley Wins Back Women's World Championship On WWE Raw

Rhea Ripley reigns supreme once more.

Defeating Liv Morgan on the action-packed debut episode of WWE Raw on Netflix on January 6th, Mami regained the title that she never lost. The match itself saw Ripley hit 2 Riptides onto Morgan to win the match and become a 3-time Women’s Champion. After the match, The Undertaker made a surprise entrance as The American Basadd to give an endorsement to the new champion.

The defeat brings to an end Morgan’s reign as champion at 224 days.

Rhea Ripley On Top Once Again

2024 looked to be Ripley’s year and the continuation of a Women’s World Championship reign that had already lasted over a year following a successful retention over Becky Lynch in the opening match of WrestleMania 40. Unfortunately due to injury, Rhea Ripley was forced to vacate the title after 380 days. In Ripley’s absence, Morgan defeated Lynch at King and Queen of the Ring to start her second reign as Women’s Champion. Upon Ripley’s return, a match was confirmed for SummerSlam that saw Morgan victorious thanks to a betrayal from Dominik Mysterio. Ripley has got her revenge on Mysterio numerous times but was never able to win back the title from Morgan at Bad Blood thanks to a returning Raquel Rodriguez.

Also on the show, The Rock acknowledged Roman Reigns after The OTC defeated Solo Sikoa in a Tribal Combat match to open the show.
