Powerhouse Hobbs is no longer listed on the AEW roster page following rumours that he will be joining WWE very soon.
Hobbs’ name and picture was taken off the roster list following the January 17 episode of Collision, which saw Hobbs, Samoa Joe and Katsuyori Shibata lose their Trios Championships to Adam Page and JetSpeed. The show was pre-taped on January 14, with Fightful Select reporting afterwards that this was Hobbs’ final date in AEW as his contract had come to an end.
The report also added that Hobbs was a free agent from January 15, meaning that he could have shown up in WWE as early as the January 16 episode of SmackDown in London if a deal had been agreed to. However, this did not happen and the former TNT and Trios Champion has not been seen on WWE at the time of writing. It has also since been reported that Hobbs was not planned to be a part of the show at the OVO Wembley Arena show in England.

Backstage information has been provided on Hobbs ahead of his imminent WWE debut.Earlier in the week, Wrestlevotes Radio on Fightful Select reported that Hobbs is expected to receive an altered name upon his arrival, but it is noted that he could be known as simply “Hobbs” moving forward. Previous WWE signings from AEW Ricky Starks and Mariah May saw their names changed to Ricky Saints and Blake Monroe, respectively, following their arrivals in NXT.
It is also currently unknown if the former AEW star will make his debut on NXT, or go straight to the main roster.
