Penta El Zero Miedo is now officially a part of the WWE roster.
Making his debut on the January 13th episode of Raw and competing in the opening match of the show, Penta was revealed to be the mystery luchador for Chad Gable, who demanded the match the previous week. Receiving a great ovation from the live fans, the newest WWE signing picked up the victory by hitting the Sacrifice [snap armbar] and the Penta Driver to pick up the victory in his debut Raw match. After the match, the former AEW star cut a promo saying that he has been waiting a long time for his moment and also declared that this was now the Penta Era.
Penta’s arrival has been expected for a number of weeks as vignettes have played on Raw to promote his arrival within the company. On the first episode of Raw on Netflix, the video package flashed up the word Penta onscreen, all but confirming his arrival. The debut was made official earlier in the day as Penta’s merch was seen on WWE shop with T-Shirts and masks available to purchase.
Who Is Penta?
Although WWE fans may not be familiar with the luchador, AEW and Lucha Underground fans are very aware of his previous successes. Capturing championships in AEW, TNA, Lucha Underground and AAA among other promotions, the newest WWE signing has found success both as a singles star and as one half of The Lucha Brothers alongside Rey Fenix.
Over the summer of 2024, The Lucha Bros reportedly stated backstage that they were looking at joining WWE when their contracts expired. However, while Penta was able to exit the company relatively easily when his contract expired, Fenix has seen injury time added onto his deal. According to reports, Fenix may not become a free agent until the summer or autumn of 2025 at the earliest.
