Lyra Valkyria has made history on WWE Raw.
On the second episode of Raw on Netflix on January 13th, Valkyria defeated Dakota Kai to become the first-ever Women’s Intercontinental Champion. The match saw Valkyria hit the Nightwing onto Kai to win the match and the championship. After the match, Raw General Manager Adam Pearce presented Valkyria with the championship and pyro went off as the new champion posed with the title.
Despite the defeat, Kai showed respect to Valkyria after the match by hugging the new champion.
Women’s mid-card championships are now officially on both brands as Chelsea Green became the inaugural Women’s United States Champion at Saturday Night’s Main Event back in December 2024 by defeating Michin to etch her name into the history books.
Valkyria adds to her WWE record as she is also a former NXT Women’s Champion.
