Multiple Title Changes On 20/3/24 AEW Dynamite

AEW Dynamite set

New champions were crowned on AEW Dynamite.

The March 20th episode of AEW Dynamite began a massive night of action for the company in Toronto. Along with the show being held outside of the United States, Rampage aired live directly afterwards, meaning that AEW fans were treated to 3 straight hours of action throughout the night.

Two title matches were announced ahead of time, with both champions seeing their reigns come to an end in Canada. The opening match of the show saw Eddie Kingston defend the Continental Championship against recent signee Kazuchika Okada. Due to the rules of the title defence, no one was allowed to be at ringside for the match. However, The Rainmaker did not require any assistance to defeat Kingston as he dethroned The Mad King to win his first championship in AEW.

The main event of the show saw a rivalry come to an end as Christian Cage defended the TNT Championship against Adam Copeland. Unlike the opening match, the “I Quit” main event saw weapons and interference throughout in a very entertaining affair. Threatening to strike Cage with Spike, Copeland won the title for a second time when Cage couldn’t take any more. Copeland previously won the TNT Championship at Worlds End but quickly lost the title when Killswitch gifted Cage his TNT title shot.

AEW Dynamite Builds To AEW Dynasty

Unlike previous years in AEW, a new pay-per-view has been announced in between Revolution and Double or Nothing. AEW Dynasty will air live in April and the company has already announced the first match for the event.
