MJF Admits He Was Nearly Abducted At AEW Show

AEW World Champion MJF has recounted the story of the time when he was nearly abducted at a wrestling show.

Currently the face of All Elite Wrestling, Maxwell Jacob Friedman has also become a breakout star in the movie world with appearances in The Iron Claw and Happy Gilmore 2. However, while MJF has seen his star power rise since joining AEW back in 2019, the 30-year-old was also nearly involved in a scary situation when someone posed as a pilot.

MJF Reveals How Pilot Impersonator Nearly Abducted Him

Appearing on The Adam Friedland ShowFriedman first noted that a pilot spoke with him and offered to take him home. After the World Champion went to thank Tony Khan for what he had done, confusion arose as Khan did not book a jet:

“A pilot walks up to me and says ‘I’m going to be flying you out after the show’s proceedings,” MJF said. “So, I find my boss after this pilot says this to me and ( I say), ‘I want you to know how much it means to me that you’re flying me back home to my Dad as soon as possible after he had the heart attack.” He goes ‘what the f— are you talking about?’ I said that pilot just told me, and he said that he didn’t book me a jet.”

Continuing, MJF noted that he and QT Marshall confronted the impersonator along with security, with the individual later admitting that he had planned to kidnap the pro wrestler:

“So, now I go back over with one of the EVP’s, QT Marshall. We ask the pilot who hired him and he says Tony Khan. We go ok, are you sure about that? Then security comes and they grab this guy. QT said that they’d let him stay if they show us a pilot license. And the guy said he left it at home … They asked this guy, what were you planning on doing and he was honest. He said he was going to abduct me.”

MJF is set to put his World Championship on the line against Kenny Omega in the main event of Dynasty on April 12. This will be a rematch from 2023 when MJF defeated Omega during his first reign with the company’s top championship.
