AEW Dynamite Results April 8: Chris Jericho Addresses His Return

Chris Jericho gave more insight into his surprise return and more on the April 8 edition of AEW Dynamite.

One week ago, Jericho appeared live on Dynamite after nearly a year away from TV. With Jericho only saying that he was home in his return promo, the first-ever AEW World Champion gave the fans more information as to why he is back.

Additionally, Knny Omega appeared live ahead of his title match with MJF at Dynasty, and Willow Nightingale defended her TBS Championship.

Excalibur, Nigel McGuinness and Tony Schiavone were on commentary for the show.

Before the show went live, Tony Khan announced that Kyle Fletcher had vacated the TNT Championship due to injury.

AEW Dynamite Results April 8:

  • A major brawl kicked off the show as Will Ospreay and Jon Moxley fought in the parking lot before The Deathriders and United Empire came to Ospreay’s aid. The brawl spilt into the arena.
  • Andrade El Idolo, Konosuke Takeshita and Mark Davis defeated Darby Allin, Bandido and Jack Perry.
  • Willow Nightingale defeated Queen Aminanta to retain her TBS Championship.
  • Chris Jericho spoke about how much he loves AEW and his history in Canada. Admitting that he has not always had great storylines in wrestling, Jericho was about to sign his new contract before being interrupted by The Demand. Jericho brought back the list and put Ricochet on it, leading to a match between the 2 being made official for Dynasty.
  • Tommaso Ciampa defeated Mascara Dorada.
  • Christian Cage and Adam Copeland appeared live to speak about their Dynasty match with FTR. Trent Beretta, Rocky Romero, Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler showed up and attacked Cage and Cope.
  • Henare, Callum Newman, Francesco Akira and Will Ospreay defeated Jon Moxley, Claudio Castagnoli, Daniel Garcia and Pac.
  • Kenny Omega spoke about his match with MJF in the main event segment. MJF appeared and hit Omega with a cheap shot, but Omega stole MJF’s Dynamite Diamond Ring to stand tall.
