Chris Jericho Makes Shock Return To AEW On Dynamite

The rumours looked to be false as Chris Jericho made his return to AEW after nearly a year away from the company.

Kicking off the April 1 AEW Dynamite, Tony Schiavone was in the ring to preside over the contract signing between World Champion MJF and challenger Kenny Omega ahead of their title match at Dynasty. However, the segment was quickly interrupted by the first-ever AEW World Champion as his music rang through the arena. Despite the fact that the show took place on April Fool’s Day, this was legitimate as Jericho made his way to the ring. Jericho declared that he was home to bring his surprise return to a brief but memorable end.

Jericho was last seen on TV at Dynasty when he lost the Ring of Honor World Championship to Bandido. Frustrated with the loss, Jericho said that he would be taking time away to think things over. The hiatus was Jericho’s longest since he joined the company back in 2019.

Chris Jericho Makes Return To AEW Despite WWE Rumours

Having been away from All Elite Wrestling for the best part of a year, the rumour mill went into overdrive that Jericho would be on his way back to WWE. The rumours only intensified when subtle references to Y2J were heard on WWE TV. However, despite speculation of a Royal Rumble or WrestleMania return, it appears that Jericho will remain All Elite until further notice.
