A contract signing, Will Ospreay vs. PAC and more took place on the April 1 edition of AEW Dynamite, the penultimate show before Dynasty.
On the March 25 Dynamite, Kenny Omega defeated Swerve Strickland to become the new number one contender to the World Championship. Bith Omega and World Champion MJF met in the ring to sign the contract to make their match at Dynasty official.
Additionally, Will Ospreay was in action against PAC of The Deathriders, and AEW Women’s Champion Thekla competed in a 6-woman tag team match.
AEW Dynamite Results April 1:
- Tony Schiavone appeared in the ring to moderate the contract signing between MJF and Kenny Omega. However, in a shock for the Winniped crowd, Chris Jericho made his return. Jericho said he was home before the cameras cut to Will Ospreay attacking Jon Moxley backstage. Omega and MJF then signed their contract for the Dynasty title match. Omega said he needed to be the one to take the title from MJF, while MJF responded by discussing Omega’s previous battles with diverticulitis. Mike Bailey calmed Omega down, leading to a match being booked between MJF and Bailey.
- Omega, Brody King and Jack Perry defeated The Demand.
- Will Ospreay defeated PAC. The Deathriders attacked Ospeay after the match, but Moxley stopped them from stomping on his neck that was wrapped in a steel chair.
- The Brawling Birds and Mina Shirakawa defeated Triangle of Madness.
- MJF defeated Mike Bailey.
