Former AEW Women’s Champion Mariah May has left the company following speculation surrounding her future.
On May 30th, fans noticed that May had been removed from the AEW roster page. Shortly afterwards, Mike Johnson of PWInsider noted that the update is a sign that a wrestler has left the promotion. Johnson also adds that WWE sources expect to see her start in the rival promotion soon. May is also a free agent and can appear for the rival promotion at any time.
May last competed in the Hollywood Ending match against Women’s Champion Toni Storm at Revolution. The violent and bloody bout brought their rivalry to an end after both women had fought over the title twice previously. With May absent from TV for weeks, speculation began that the British wrestler would be the latest departure from All Elite Wrestling. Speculation only furthered at Double or Nothing when May did not appear after Storm retained the title over Mina Shirakawa, who the former Women’s Champion has also been linked to.
