WWE has announced the 2 big stars will be appearing live on the September 5 SmackDown.
Following his victory over Logan Paul at Clash in Paris, John Cena will be making the latest stop on his retirement tour. With just 8 appearances left, the Cena farewell tour is approaching the end as the last match on December 13 draws closer. As Cena was attacked by Brock Lesnar at the end of SummerSlam, it is expected that the match between Cena and Lesnar will be made official for Wrestlepalooza on September 20.
Clash in Paris saw CM Punk fail to capture the World Heavyweight Championship after being hit with a low blow by Becky Lynch, leading to a war of words between the two the following night on Raw. With SmackDown set to air live from Chicago on September 5, Punk has made it clear that he will be making a live appearance on the show.
With this being the first episode of SmackDown since Clash in Paris, it is expected that the SmackDown matches from the show will be addressed, including The Wyatt Sicks retaining the Tag Team Championships over The Street Profits ad Roman Reigns being attacked by Bronson Reed.
The Following Has Been Announced For The September 5 WWE SmackDown:
- John Cena to appear live
- CM Punk to appear
