The Women’s Owen Hart Tournament will continue and more on the June 17 edition of AEW Dynamite.
After making her return on the June 3 Dynamite, Mercedes Mone advanced in the Owen Hart Tournament by defeating Alex Windsor. Mone will be in action once again on the next episode of Dynamite. Competing in the semifinals, Mone will face Hazuki. Whoever is the winner will advance to Forbidden Door to compete in the final. Whoever wins the tournament will earn a Women’s Championship opportunity at All In at London.
On the June 10 AEW Dynamite, multiple matches were confirmed for Forbidden Door. Along with Swerve Strickland vs. Will Ospreay and Kenny Omega vs. Zack Sabre Jr., MJF will have to assemble a team to take on Mark Briscoe’s team inside a steel cage. While not announced, expect to see more matches confirmed for the PPV, along with entrants for each respective team to be announced.
With the Owen Hart Men’s final now set, Ospreay and Strickland will go face-to-face on the show. The final of the tournament is set for Forbidden Door, with the winner going on to challenge for the World Championship at All In: London.
Also at Forbidden Door, Team MJF will face Team Mark Briscoe in a 12-man steel cage match. If Team Briscoe win, Mark Briscoe will receive a future World Title opportunity. Both teams will be finalised on the next episode of Dynamite.
