First Matches Official For AEW Forbidden Door 2026

Old rivals from New Japan will collide, a huge steel cage match and more have been confirmed for AEW Forbidden Door 2026.]

The first matches were made official during the June 10 Summer Blockbuster special of Dynamite. In the main event of the show, Swerve Strickland defeated Brody King to advance to the final of the Owen Hart Cup. Strickland will face Will Ospreay at Forbidden Door. Whoever is the overall winner will compete for the World Championship in the main event of All In at Wembley Stadium in London.

Also on Dynamite, Zack Sabre Jr. appeared via video to challenge Kenny Omega to a match at Forbidden Door. This will be the first time the former IWGP World Champions have faced off since 2018. Competing in the G1 Climax tournament that year, it was Omega who picked up the win that night.

World Champion MJF will be in action at the show, but the title won’t be on the line. Instead, MJF will assemble a team to take on Mark Briscoe’s team inside a steel cage. If Briscoe’s team wins, Mark Briscoe will receive a future shot at the World Title.

AEW Forbidden Door 2026 Line-Up:

  • Will Ospreay vs. Swerve Strickland – Men’s Owen Hart Foundation Tournament final
  • TBA vs. TBA – Women’s Owen Hart Foundation Tournament final
  • Kenny Omega vs. Zack Sabre Jr.
  • Team MJF vs. Team Mark Briscoe – Steel cage match. If Team Briscoe wins, Mark Briscoe will earn a future World Championship opportunity
  • Thekla (c) vs. Starlight Kid – Signles match for the AEW Women’s Championship

AEW Forbidden Door will air live on PPV on Sunday, June 28.
