AEW Dynamite: Summer Blockbuster Results June 10

The build to Forbidden Door continued, a title match and more took place on the June 10 AEW Dynamite.

The second semifinal of the Men’s Owen Hart Tournament took place on Dynamite, which saw the winner face Will Ospreay in the final at the pay-per-view. The second semifinal saw Brody King take on Swerve Strickland.

Additionally, MJF found out who he would be facing at Forbidden Door. The World Champion confirmed he was injured prior to the show, but would not be missing any TV time. Also announced, JonMoxley put his Continental Championship on the line against Shane Taylor.

Excalibur, Tony Sciavone and Taz were on commentary for the show.

AEW Dynamite: Summer Blockbuster Results June 10:

  • Tony Schiavone introduced Tommaso Ciampa to open the show. Ciampa demanded that Schiavone say that he is better than Chris Jericho. Jericho interrupted and Ciampa demanded the music be cut, but Judas kept playing. Jericho joked that he is only facing bald wrestlers in AEW. After calling Ciampa “Tommy”, Ciampa said that Jericho said that he wasn’t taking things seriously, which Jericho said that he was. Ciampa struck Jericho and security broke things up.
  • Jon Moxley defeated Shane Taylor to retain the Continental Championship. Taylor attacked Moxley after the match. Marina Shafir tried to make the save, but was attacked by Trish Adora.
  • Mercedes Mone said that even though she has been out for 6 months, no one will take away the Owen Hart Cup from her.
  • Don Callis and Kevin Knight appeared live in the ring. Knight called out MJF but was instead attacked with a skateboard by Darby Allin.
  • Mark Briscoe defeated PAC. Briscoe called out MJF after the match.
  • MJF appeared live. Briscoe wanted a title shot, but MJF said no. Jay Lethal, Blake Christian and Lee Johnson beat down Briscoe, but The Conglomeration made the save. A steel cage match was announced for Forbidden Door between Team MJF and Team Briscoe.
  • Andrade El Idolo defeated Orange Cassidy.
  • Maya World defeated Skye Blue to advance in the Owen Hart Tournament.
  • Zack Sabre Jr. appeared via video to call out Kenny Omega for Forbidden Door.
  • Backstage, MJF approached Don Callis for help in the cage match. Callis first refused, but accepted when he was offered money. Kevin Knight agreed to help, but wanted a title match if their team won.
  • Swerve Strickland defeated Brody King to advance to the final of the Owen Hart Cup. Strickland will face Ospreay in the final.
