Kenny Omega has responded to the attack.
On the May 1st episode of Dynamite, Omega was brutally attacked by The Elite and was pushed off a stretcher as the show went off the air. Ahead of the May 8th episode, Omega was advertised to deliver an important announcement.
Appearing via hospital bed, Omega announced the return of Anarchy in the Arena and it would be a 4 on 4 match of Team Elite [The Young Bucks, Kazuchika Okada and Jack Perry] vs. FTR and 2 names to be announced later in the night.
In the main event segment, The Bucks stated that the show does not end until they say that it is over. Okada and The Bucks mocked Omega and Tony Khan before being interrupted by FTR. Dax Harwood referenced the upcoming match and introduced their partners, Eddie Kingston and Bryan Danielson. A brawl took place to close out the show.
The updated line-up for AEW Double or Nothing is as follows:
- Roderick Strong (c) vs. Will Ospreay – Singles match for the International Championship
- Willow Nightingale (c) v. Mercedes Mone – Singles match for the TBS Championship
- Swerve Strickland (c) vs. Christian Cage – Singles match for the AEW World Championship
- “Timeless” Toni Storm (c) vs. Serena Deeb – Singles match for the AEW Women’s Championship
- The Young Bucks, Kazuchika Okada and Jack Perry vs. FTR, Bryan Danielson and Eddie Kingston – Anarchy in the Arena
Kenny Omega Admits Recent Appearance Surprised Him
May 1st saw Omega make his return to the company in his hometown of Winnipeg. Announced ahead of time, Kenny Omega recently admitted that the announcement was a surprise for him.
