Kenny Omega AEW Return Update

Will AEW fans see Kenny Omega back in the promotion soon? An update was provided following the previous New Japan announcement.

Could Kenny Omega be back in an AEW ring again soon?

The former World Champion is approaching one year out of action after being hospitalised earlier in the year with diverticulitis. Given the severity of the condition and his previous injuries, it was unknown when or if Omega would be making a return to the ring. However, following a recent appearance at NJPW Power Struggle, Omega announced that he would be back in action at the AEW and NJPW crossover show Wrestle Dynasty on January 5th. With this in mind, fans are hoping that an announcement will be made soon that will also see Omega compete in an AEW ring once again.

Speaking on the media call ahead of Full Gear, Tony Khan stated that he was very excited that Omega was back and hopes to have him back in AEW sooner than later:

“I would love to have Kenny Omega back in AEW as soon as possible. He’s one of our greatest wrestlers ever. We work really closely with New Japan Pro Wrestling, we’ll be collaborating with them on the Wrestle Dynasty event to make a huge show. Very excited to get Kenny Omega back, hopefully very soon in AEW. It’s something that will help us a lot, means a lot to us.

Absolutely if we can get Kenny Omega going as soon as possible I think it would be a great thing for us. I’m just excited his health is better and he sounds a lot better and looks so much better. It will be a great thing to get Kenny Omega back here very soon.”

Who Will Kenny Omega Be Facing At Wrestle Dynasty?

At Power Struggle, Omega was involved in a physical altercation with Strong Openweight Champion Gabe Kidd. Speaking with NJPW after the incident, Omega officially challenged Kidd to a match at the upcoming event. This will be Omega’s first match since he defeated Ethan Page on Collision in December 2023.
