Jon Moxley will serve as an interim Trios Champion following the events that took place on the most recent episode of AEW Dynamite.

On the April 9th episode of Dynamite, PAC faced off against Swerve Strickland. During the match, PAC was favouring his foot/ankle and rolled to the outside of the ring, which is believed to be following a buckle bomb from Strickland. The match was cut short with Strickland hitting the Swerve Stomp onto PAC to pick up the victory. After the match, multiple outlets reported that PAC’s injury was legitimate and that he needed help to the back. At the time of writing, the severity of the injury is unknown.

As PAC is one third of the Trios Champions alongside Wheeler Yuta and Claudio Castagnoli, there was concern regarding the future of the titles. On the April 12th episode of Collision, Tony Schiavone confirmed the injury and provided the update that Jon Moxley will serve as the replacement moving forward. It was also announced that the Death Riders will defend the titles against The Opps on the next episode of Dynamite.

Jon Moxley To Pull Double Duty As Champion

Along with serving as the replacement Trios Champion, Moxley still reigns as the World Champion following a successful retention over Swerve Strickland back at Dynasty.
