John Cena Promises More Unpredictability In Final WWE Year

John Cena Promises More Unpredictability In Final WWE Year

John Cena has promised some more twists and turns as part of his final year in WWE.

At the start of the year, Cena officially kicked off his year-long retirement tour. While it appeared that Cena would be playing things safe by being the babyface that played the greatest hits, the world was stunned at Elimination Chamber when the Hollywood star sold his soul to The Rock and attacked Cody Rhodes.

At WrestleMania, Cena will challenge Cody Rhodes for the Undisputed Championship and will hope to become a 17-time World Champion, the most of anyone in WWE history. In terms of what will happen next, Cena has teased more shocking moments.

Speaking with PEOPLE, Cena noted that there was more unpredictability to be expected:

“I’m going to say that there’s more unpredictability on the way. Here’s the stance I’m going to take on it, and I think hopefully I can put it in terms you can understand: We’re in the middle of a very riveting season of episodic television and you are kindly asking me to give you spoilers, and I can’t do that,” he continued. “What I did really enjoy about your question is you expressed the unpredictability of WWE programming, and I think that’s one strong point of the current state of WWE — its unpredictability in its programming.”

When asked about other goals he had as part of the farewell tour, Cena chose to not spoil anything that might happen down the road:

“I want to be careful by not spoiling the cool moments that we have, but this is something that goes beyond WWE programming. I just love it, and I think that when I can no longer compete, I will always be a member of the WWE family in some capacity — whether I can pass on my wisdom through mentorship or be an advocate and a spokesperson for the brand. They certainly will have to shoo me away, because I’m like you — I’m a fan first and I love it so much.”

The Rock Yet To Return Following John Cena Heel Turn

Although Cena sided with The Rock following the events that took place at Elimination Chamber, there has been no sign of The Final Boss since. However, The Rock has referenced what took place in Toronto after the show went off the air.
