John Cena Opens Up About Famous WWE Moves Used During Logan Paul Match

John Cena has commented on the use of multiple finishers in his match with Logan Paul that long-time wrestling fans will be very familiar with.

In what was his final match in Europe, Cena faced Paul in front of an enthusiastic French crowd at Clash in Paris. Throughout the match, Cena hit multiple finishers from stars he has feuded with in the past, including Baron Corbin’s End of Days, Dolph Ziggler’s Zig Zag, and a Styles Clash, the move made famous by AJ Styles. Ultimately, Cena hit the Attitude Adjustment on Paul to win the match, celebrating with the Paris crowd when all was said and done to end the European leg of his retirement tour on a positive note.

Appearing at the Clash in Paris post-show, Cena spoke about the tributes that were seen during the match. Noting that he only has 8 appearances left, the 17-time World Champion acknowledged that he would not be able to face all of his old rivals, so he looked to pay homage to them while also entertaining the fans:

“I will say that I’ve had a lot of opponents over the years, and with eight appearances left, I know I’m not gonna be able to wrestle everybody who was influential in my career, but I think you saw tonight, the best way I can say thank you to some of those people who affected my career is kinda pay homage by maybe taking some risks and doing some stuff that I don’t normally do out there,” he explained. “I gotta shout out AJ. But, I’m just saying, hopefully I can do more of that and take my game to a different level and in turn, do what we’re supposed to do and that’s to entertain the fans.”

What’s Next For John Cena Following Logan Paul Victory?

Cena is next scheduled to be in action at the WrestlePalooza Premium Live Event on September 20, which will also mark the start of the ESPN era in the United States with the new streaming platform playing host to PLEs domestically moving forward. While not officially announced, it is expected that Cena will face Brock Lesnar at the show as Lesnar attacked Cena at the end of SummerSlam.
