John Cena WWE Crown Jewel

John Cena will face off against a very familiar rival at WWE Crown Jewel.

As announced by Triple H on social media September 23, the 17-time World Champion will go one-on-one with AJ Styles one final time at the Premium Live Event that will air live from Perth, Australia next month. The match was first teased by Cena on social media earlier in the day, with Styles also confirming that he wanted the match.

It should be noted that Cena is not scheduled to make any appearances on WWE TV before the match, meaning that the promotion for the match will be solely on Styles and video packages highlighting their history. Cena and Styles competed against each other from 2016 to 2018, with the WWE Championship being at stake multiple times throughout their rivalry. Their last match took place in February 2018, which saw Cena pick up the victory over The Phenomenal One.

Following Crown Jewel, Cena will only have 2 matches left on his retirement tour, which will conclude in December at Saturday Night’s Main Event, reportedly in Washinton DC.
