In what many saw as an inevitability, Joe Hendry is now officially a WWE Superstar.
The news was broken by Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select, who reported that Hendry is now done with TNA in an official capacity, with his WWE signing being the reason for this. It is also added that the former World Champion is not listed to appear at any of the weekend TNA shows, and that those in the company were surprised that the Scottish wrestler was not booked for the promotion’s biggest show of the year, Bound For Glory, which took place back in October.
WWE sources confirmed to Fightful that Hendry is effectively full-time with the promotion at this point, and officially a part of the company. It is also noted that there were a number of months left on his TNA deal, but Hendry will now be with WWE moving forward.
Hendry has recently been seen on NXT alongside Thea Hail, with the duo set to challenge Ethan Page and Chelsea Green for the AAA Mixed Tag Team Championships at the Gold Rush special on November 18.
Joe Hendry Now With WWE Following Many High-Profile Appearances
Becoming one of the most popular acts on the TNA roster in 2024 thanks to his entrance song going viral, Hendry became the fans’ number one choice for the TNA star they wanted to appear on WWE TV as part of the talent exchange, which saw Hendry make his debut in May of that year.
Following multiple appearances on the NXT roster, Hendry surprised the fans even more in 2025. Along with being revealed as a surprise entrant in the Royal Rumble, Hendry was also Randy Orton’s surprise opponent at WrestleMania 41 after original plans for Orton to face Kevin Owens were scrapped.
A popular star among the fans and reportedly very well liked backstage, many suspected that Hendry would be WWE bound when his TNA deal expired.
Hendry has also been heavily rumoured to be one of the surprise names in the Last Time Is Now Tournament to determine John Cena’s final opponent on December 13.
