AEW star Jeff Jarrett has officially extended a formal invitation for Taylor Swift’s fiance Travis Kelce to make an appearance on the show, but added that there may be an unwanted musical addition in his future.
Swift took the next step in her own love story on August 25 when the popstar revealed that she was engaged to be married to Kansas City Chiefs player Travis Kelce. In what is yet another connection between the worlds of music and wrestling, two entertainment mediums that have crossed paths for decades, Swift has a history with Jarrett, which the WWE Hall of Famer has elaborated on.
While speaking with TMZ, Jarrett elaborated on his family’s connection with the music icon, notably when his first wife became ill with breast cancer and Swift became close with his daughters:
“It was Christmas of 2006. My first wife was really ill with breast cancer. She passed away about five months after this, so she was really ill and a friend of Taylor said, ‘Hey, why don’t you drop by?’ Obviously, like every little girl in America, my daughters were big Taylor fans. Her songs had just kind of broke, but she was a hometown girl.”
“I think in a lot of ways, and I’ll get emotional saying this, she kind of bonded with the family, specifically with the girls.”
Jarrett also added that Swift spent time baking with the girls and hosted a 3 hour concert for them.
Following Swift’s rise to fame, it has become a long standing rumour among wrestling fans that Swift used to be a babysitter for Jarrett’s kids prior to becoming one of the biggest music stars in the world. Clarifying the rumour in the interview, Jarrett admitted that while Swift has looked after the kids, he had never officially paid her to be a babysitter for his daughters:
“I’d like to say it, but I don’t believe she’s ever been on the Jeff Jarrett payroll, so to speak.”

Looking to bring things full circle, Jarrett added that he would like to invite Kelce to AEW, and joked that a guitar may come into play:
“I would love for Kelce to step on into an AEW ring and I tell you one thing, I’d love to have a guitar for him. I got a guitar shot for Travis. But no, I’d welcome him in an AEW ring. I think he could make a lot of noise and it goes without saying, him and his brother, showmen at heart.”
“I wish Travis nothing but success this upcoming year, but there’s going to come a time when his football career is over, so the door will be open at AEW.”
Although Travis Kelce has never appeared inside a wrestling ring, his brither Jason made a cameo appearance at WrestleMania 40, helping Rey Mysterio and Andrade pick up a victory over Santos Escobar and “Dirty” Dominik Mysterio.
